- ➤ NorCal Pet Services Inc. has partnered with Feeding Pets of the Homeless to become an official pet food donation site at 966 Maraglia Street, Redding. Donations can be dropped off during business hours as the program supports pets & owners facing homelessness. Action News Now
- ➤ Kim Smith volunteers as a Salvation Army holiday bell ringer to support the Shasta Lake community this season + her service brings festive cheer for local residents. Record Searchlight
- ➤ Redding Rancheria Community Fund announced fall grants of over $89,000 to 35 nonprofits in Shasta and Trinity Counties, including the Red Cross, search and rescue, schools, and healthcare groups + others. The fund has invested more than $4.6 million in local efforts since 2002. KQMS

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Whitmore and Mountain Union school districts will merge effective July 1 to streamline operations; both schools will remain open while voters select a new five-member board next November after an April approval. - ➤ Drivers in Redding will face intermittent traffic control on Rancho Road and Airport Road starting Monday, Dec. 15 as a project installs new communication conduit; the work will occur between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. until Jan. 2, 2026, while emergency services maintain access. Action News Now
