- ➤ Red Bluff hosted a Neighborhood Block Party yesterday to teach disaster preparedness and community resilience. Organized by local groups and Listos California, the event provided guidance on emergency kits, evacuation routes and ways to help vulnerable neighbors. KRCR

- ➤ The 2025 Diverse Minds North State Journal celebrates local resilience and is now available for purchase. Leaders from Northern Valley Catholic Social Services (and Iversen Wellness) helped launch the publication. KRCR
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Redding has seen pea soup fog in the mornings since Thanksgiving, caused by a high-pressure system that traps low-lying clouds. The fog is expected to linger through Monday, Dec. 15 (morning visibility is as low as 0.25 miles along I-5 and Highway 299) before clearing later in the day. Record Searchlight
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The U.S. Forest Service has ordered mussels to be removed from below the high water mark at Shasta, Lewiston, Trinity, Iron Canyon and McCloud Lakes in Shasta-Trinity National Forest until December 2027—boaters must clean, drain and dry their equipment and obtain a Mussel Fee sticker to avoid fines or jail. - ➤ On Dec. 9, Officer Allered of the Red Bluff Police Department discussed tailgating risks during Traffic Tuesday and advised drivers to keep a safe gap behind slower vehicles to help reduce accident risks. Action News Now

- ➤ Signature Healthcare plans True North, a behavioral health facility in Shasta Lake pending state Prop. 1 funding this spring.
