- ➤ On Sunday night, Anderson held its annual Lighted Christmas Parade on East Center Street, drawing more than 3,000 people to see around 50 festive entries and enjoy free ice skating and cookie decorating. A special Santa visit and the lighting of the community tree officially opened the holiday season — a cherished tradition since 1980. Action News Now
- ➤ Streets in Anderson will be closed for the Christmas Parade on Thursday night— the Anderson Police Department confirmed that E. Center and Freeman Streets will be closed to vehicle traffic— and local residents should use alternate routes. Action News Now
- ➤ Although SNAP payments have been restored after the shutdown, rising prices keep food insecurity a challenge for local families at the holidays. Several community groups including Dignity Health Connected Living, Good News Rescue Mission and Operation Blue Santa + United Way are offering meals, gift cards and holiday support.
