Local bakery La Joie opened on the corner of Market and Yuba streets in downtown Redding, offering French Riviera flavors and California style—owner Kate Grennell said the bakery reflects her love for food and community.

It is open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays.

Shasta College will host its 74th Annual Art Faculty Exhibit from November 10 to December 18 with an opening reception on November 12 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at its art gallery where five faculty artists will show work in painting, drawing, sculpture + photography.

Haven Humane Society is partnering with nonprofit Animal Balance to offer over 400 low-cost spay and neuter surgeries for local dogs and cats.
