- ➤ The Pit River Tribe is marking the anniversary of the Four Corners Occupation today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the intersection of Highways 299 and 89 near McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park—where the tribe honors indigenous rights and works to reclaim its ancestral lands by partnering with Congressman Doug LaMalfa and the Western Rivers Conservancy. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Redding Public Works Engineering crews have started installing new overhead street lights at 18 intersections as part of a $632,937.22 project funded by a state grant and a city match. The work will run weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through mid-December — motorists are advised to drive carefully in the affected areas. Record Searchlight
