ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ An unidentified man was hospitalized with major injuries after his 2010 Honda Civic rolled over and hit a power pole south of Palo Cedro on Monday at 12:30 p.m., and rescuers had to extricate him before he was taken to Mercy Hospital. KQMS
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday in a Shasta County courtroom, a hearing continued for Tyler McCain, accused of killing his wife Nikki Saelee McCain — detectives showed photos of her injuries, a burned license found in his wallet, and blood with hair in her Chevy Blazer, as the case is set to resume Wednesday morning and may last all week. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters in Trinity County updated wildfire status as the Peak Fire, which burned 504 acres and is 84% contained, will have its command transferred today back to the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. The Cedar Fire is 95% contained as crews protect nearby areas and use recent rain to strengthen containment lines—supporting ongoing suppression efforts. Action News Now

- ➤ Today, You Matter Shasta holds the Light of Hope event at Sundial Bridge in Redding to mark World Suicide Prevention Day with a moment of silence set for 8:00 p.m. The bridge will be illuminated in blue and purple — honoring those lost to suicide. KQMS
- ➤ Classic and show car owners are urged to sign up for the Classics for a Cause Car Show scheduled for Saturday September 20th at Everything Medical on Athens Avenue from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—the free event will offer food, beer, music and trophies while a $30 donation registration and a fundraiser dinner on Friday the 19th at Win River Casino will raise funds for Alyssa Araiza Wings of Angels.
