CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Two victims in East Redding, identified as the mother and brother of the suspected killer, were fatally shot outside a home on Abernathy Lane last Tuesday, and the suspect is held without bail on two counts of first degree murder. KQMS
- ➤ Anderson Police arrested 28-year-old Jackson Elliot Dalrymple—a registered sex offender and parolee—for stealing a pair of shoes from Walmart and possessing meth on Pleasant Hills Drive; he now faces felony charges. KQMS

- ➤ Tickets are now available for the sixth annual Redding Garden of Lights event at Turtle Bay Exploration Park and the Sundial Bridge—where over 2 million lights and attractions like the ADA-compliant Turtle Express mini train ride create a glowing holiday display. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The intersection of Hartnell and Alta Mesa Drive in east Redding is closed for a $1.6 Million repaving project by J.F. Shea—work began Sunday night and continues until 6 a.m. Wednesday with completion expected in mid-November. KQMS
- ➤ Today, Shasta County Supervisors will debate a state-funded child care program that supports families receiving welfare benefits and costs $4.9 Million, with the state reimbursing the payment retroactively due to high renewal volumes—placing the item on the regular agenda instead of the consent calendar for automatic approval. - ➤ California joined forces with several Western states and Canada by signing onto the Northwest Wildland Firefighting Compact on September 5 to add firefighting resources after U.S. Forest Service funding cuts—Governor Gavin Newsom said the pact will help protect communities from severe wildfires caused by climate change.
