🌲 Environment
The U.S. Forest Service said the Root Fire, which began on September 1, was caused by an escaped campfire—burning 759 acres and prompting fire restrictions until December 31.
Firefighters and 457 personnel are working day and night to contain the blaze that is 50% contained while evacuations and warnings remain in effect for affected areas.
