- ➤ The Redding Area CHP is hosting a bicycle rodeo today at Anderson River Park near Kiddie Land from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.+ The event will teach children safe riding techniques and proper helmet sizes+ parents will also learn essential bicycle safety tips. KQMS
- ➤ Redding Wrap Company owner James Azbill spent 60 hours with his team to wrap three law enforcement vehicles in gold on Sept. 3rd for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month— the project supports the nonprofit The Alyssa Araiza Wings of Angels Organization and raises awareness for children battling cancer. - ➤ A Redding man was charged with murder after fatally impaling Salvador Rabago with an arrow fired from a crossbow at a home on Radio Lane in South Redding on Monday—he is scheduled to return to court on September 11th. KQMS
- ➤ The Shasta County Coroner's Office identified 47-year-old Chastity Milenewicz and 29-year-old Anthony Ray Penta as the victims fatally shot Tuesday on the 10000 block of Abernathy Lane near Old Alturas Road in Redding—31-year-old Jesse Penta was booked into jail on two murder charges. - ➤ Red Bluff police arrested 45-year-old Frederick Wayne Appleby after a late night investigation at a closed business on Montgomery Street uncovered fentanyl, marijuana, a rifle, a revolver, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia. Action News Now

- ➤ Today the United States Forest Service closed part of Shasta-Trinity National Forest, including sections of the Pacific Crest Trail between Castle Crags and Forest Road 40N26, because the Root Fire burned over 750 acres and is 50% contained.
