- ➤ Lou Gerard, a longtime civic leader who ran his family’s Crown Motors starting in 1959 and later led the Greater Redding Chamber of Commerce, has passed away. He is remembered for founding Leadership Redding, launching the Downtown Lighted Christmas Parade and leading a 5.5 million campaign to restore the Cascade Theatre. KQMS
- ➤ Beautify Shasta and the Geocaching Community are hosting a cleanup event near Gateway Drive in Anderson on Saturday, September 6 at 8 a.m. Volunteers will remove litter and debris—protective equipment and trash bags are provided. Action News Now

- ➤ A CHP officer in Shasta County pulled over a rented 25-foot Penske box van last Thursday and found 194 moving boxes and 2 trash bags holding 3,650 pounds of cannabis—resulting in the driver's arrest for felony transportation across state lines. KQMS
- ➤ Redding Police are looking for the driver in a hit-and-run last Friday when a silver pickup towing a cargo trailer lost control on Lake Boulevard near St. Marks and struck two motorcyclists, who were seriously hurt and taken to hospital—witness footage was captured on KQMS Facebook Page. KQMS
- ➤ Tyler McCain pleaded not guilty to all charges at his arraignment on Friday in Shasta County—he faces a murder charge with a special circumstance alleging intent to prevent testimony along with multiple other charges and will return to court on September 3rd in a 3-to-5-day preliminary hearing while held without bail.
