Lou Gerard, a longtime civic leader who ran his family’s Crown Motors starting in 1959 and later led the Greater Redding Chamber of Commerce, has passed away.

He is remembered for founding Leadership Redding, launching the Downtown Lighted Christmas Parade and leading a 5.5 million campaign to restore the Cascade Theatre.
