A man was sentenced to 26-years-to-life in prison after a Shasta County jury convicted him for assaulting a man in Redding when he attacked a parked car driver on July 27 after being refused help and having prior strikes—he was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats.

A Cottonwood man, 46-year-old Joshus Allen Fitch, was stopped Friday night on Happy Valley Road when Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies noticed signs of impairment and used Jed the K9—leading to a search that found over 2.5 pounds of meth, 5 ounces of cocaine, 75 oxycodone pills, two loaded handguns and $6,600—resulting in his arrest on multiple charges with bail set at $100,000.

Heather Cameron vanished 13 years ago in Shasta County when she was seen heading to Keswick Dam with her ex-boyfriend Daniel Lusby—she made three 911 calls using his phone and her estranged husband reported her missing two weeks later, leaving the case unsolved.
