ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 35-year-old Redding motorcyclist riding a 2023 Harley Davidson rear-ended a Toyota Corolla on I-5 in North Redding at 7:30 p.m. Saturday — he was ejected and died while the Corolla driver from Sunnyside was not injured. KQMS
- ➤ On Friday afternoon, emergency responders found a man dead on Hornbeck Trail off Quartz Hill Road after he suffered injuries from a bicycle crash — a woman who discovered him attempted CPR but rescue efforts were delayed due to the remote location. KQMS
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Redding man remains jailed after an April shooting at Twin View Mobile Home Park—57-year-old Steven George King allegedly shot a man who was hospitalized and now faces charges of attempted murder, mayhem, assault with a firearm, grossly negligent discharge, and gun possession while under a restraining order with his next court date set for August 7th. - ➤ Authorities continue searching for answers after Donna Sholberg and Nathan Florence II went missing on August 24, 2010 in Shingletown with two others as they headed for Reno—people with any information are urged to call police. Action News Now
- ➤ Redding Police responded at 8:45 p.m. Sunday to a call from the boat ramp behind the Rodeo Arena where a man suffered a stab wound to his lower neck and was taken to hospital; they later arrested 48-year-old Jason Wiebusch—already on parole for assault with a deadly weapon and wanted on an active warrant. - ➤ After a weekend lightning storm, crews fought dozens of fires sparked by thunder in northern Shasta County — with small blazes still burning near Burney, Weed, Mt. Shasta and in Klamath National Forest. A fire near Post Mountain burned 3 acres while the Mammoth Fire at Lava Beds National Monument grew to over 2,500 acres and was 42% contained. KQMS
