- ➤ Shasta County Sheriff's Office arrested 68-year-old Timothy Thompson Tuesday night in Igo after he fired his shotgun multiple times at a neighbor's property—reportedly shouting racial slurs during the incident. Action News Now
- ➤ Last Thursday, a Redding Police cadet used a shoulder tap operation to test if tobacco shops sold to minors—two customers were cited while 11 retailers refused sales and one store showed 36 banned vape products. KQMS
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Fighting the Green Fire 13 miles east of Lakehead cost $1.3 million on July 8th and rose to $4.1 million by July 9th as crews worked quickly to protect properties in Shasta County — Caleb Ashby explained that federal funds along with state budgets covered costs for aircraft, meals, and firefighter pay, with final rehabilitation costs to be confirmed later.
