CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 21 year old suspect named Skylar Eugene Darrah was arrested in Shasta County on rape and assault charges involving a minor — he is in custody with bail set at $1,500,000. Action News Now
- ➤ A Redding woman, 35-year-old Ashley Fortner, was arrested yesterday after she assaulted an officer near Clear Creek Market on Westside Road — she punched the officer, threw feces, and grabbed his groin during the struggle as police continued their investigation and said more arrests may follow. - ➤ Redding Police arrested Edward Hillman—a 22-year-old repeat offender—for attempted arson and resisting arrest on Friday, June 27 at about 8:55 p.m. when officers responded to reports on the 1200 block of Burton Court after he tried to set a discarded chair on fire; he had already been taken into custody earlier for felony vandalism and assault with a deadly weapon after throwing rocks through windows on River Bend Drive.
