CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The CHP raided a cannabis growing operation in Anderson on Thursday by serving a search warrant that uncovered unpermitted structures with 634 plants & will request charges against the Bay Area property owner. KQMS
- ➤ Redding police arrested 32-year-old Preston Allen, who is on Post Release Supervision from Tuolumne County, after they searched his home on Verda Street on Thursday and found a locked Winchester gun safe containing two shotguns, six rifles and various ammunition — he is a convicted felon. KQMS
- ➤ Redding Police checked local registered sex offenders over the past few weeks, contacting 49 individuals, finding six out of compliance + making one arrest while submitting complaints for prosecution. KQMS
- ➤ Police Chief Brian Barner said a 28-year-old South Redding woman apparently died from a dog attack on June 16th when her fiancé found her body at their Riviera Drive home—police have seized two dogs from the property. KQMS
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Many Redding residents felt a magnitude 3.6 earthquake that struck Friday morning at 3:57 a.m. three miles northwest of the city—according to the US Geological Survey. KQMS
