  • At the Shasta District Fair the Junior Livestock Auction has brought in over $2.25 million — add-on sales will be counted until the end of the month as 69,000 people attended the five-day event.  KQMS

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Crews contained a shop fire that produced a large dark plume on Fawn Drive off Intermountain Road near Bella Vista Monday night—another vehicle fire that spread to vegetation on a quarter acre was held near Highway 3 and Rush Creek Road northeast of Weaverville Monday afternoon.  KQMS

CRIME NEWS

  • A teenage girl was attacked by a mob at a party near Stillwater Business Park on June 18, leaving her with severe facial injuries and broken braces — police later arrested multiple suspects including 19-year-old Kianna Lopez after her family provided video evidence.  KRCR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation celebrated the 80th anniversary of Shasta Dam and its powerplant, honoring the 4,700 workers and their families who built the project from 1938 to 1945—this vital facility now provides clean energy, water, and flood control for the region.  Action News Now
  • Shasta County Superior Court sided with county officials last week in denying a public records request by the California Land Stewardship Council regarding a 30‑year impact payment agreement made in July 2023 with Redding Rancheria. County staff noted that the agreement was compared unfavorably with similar local deals, leading several officials to recommend its rejection.  KQMS
