  • An elderly man died in a rollover crash early Monday on Highway 273 near Whitehouse Drive—CHP reports that a red Chevrolet collided with a white Ford Ranger, and the Ford's driver was seriously injured.  KRCR
  • Redding police responded to two fatal traffic crashes in a 24-hour span that killed an 81-year-old woman and a motorcyclist+ speed is suspected as a factor in the motorcycle crash while investigators continue probing the SUV collision.  Record Searchlight

CRIME NEWS

  • Lake Shastina police are asking the public to help locate Keanu Joseph Nahinu, a missing juvenile last seen on June 21 around 5 p.m. at his home where his court-mandated ankle monitor was cut off near a truck—officials said he has known ties to the Sureños gang but no immediate danger exists.  KRCR
  • A Shasta County jury convicted 64-year-old Jeffrey Curtis French on four felony charges after he attacked his 75-year-old girlfriend on April 8, causing a head wound that required nine staples—his sentencing is set for July 21.  KQMS

HEALTH NEWS

  • A topping off ceremony was held Friday when the final steel beam was placed for Dignity Health's new cancer center next to the Cypress Avenue Bridge in Redding—officials say the center will open about this time next year to help cancer patients.  KQMS
