- ➤ The Shasta District Fairgrounds is hosting its annual Summer Vibes and Carnival Rides fair from June 18 to June 22, featuring carnival rides, livestock exhibits and live performances for the whole family. Special discount days are offered to kids, seniors and first responders. KRCR
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 2,500-square-foot house under construction on Yuki Yama Lane east of Redding was destroyed by fire overnight when crews arrived around Midnight; the cause is under investigation. KQMS

- ➤ At Home continues to build its new outlet in Redding in a retrofitted former Costco building off Dana Drive—despite filing for Chapter 11 and planning to close 26 stores to cut $2 Billion in debt. KQMS
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The Mt Shasta Police Department is searching for Stephen August Haff, wanted for an assault with a deadly weapon involving a knife, and if he is seen do not approach — call 911 immediately. Action News Now
- ➤ Redding Police arrested 61-year-old Diana Merical after she crashed her car into Stumpy’s Liquors on Victor Avenue in East Redding Tuesday afternoon—she was intoxicated and sustained minor injuries. KQMS
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Crews from the Redding Police Community Work Program removed 25,000 pounds of trash from homeless camps at locations including Churn Creek Drainage, Olney Creek and other sites using the Shasta County Alternative Custody Program. The cleanup— which also took 3,100 pounds of green waste from Polk Street Open Space— brought the yearly total to nearly 300,000 pounds. KQMS

- ➤ Redding city council voted 4—1 to change a proposal by requiring all tobacco retailers to obtain a license instead of just vape shops—Assistant City Attorney Stacy Larson said the move is meant to protect youth by discouraging illegal sales in an area with high youth tobacco use.
