  • Taste of Redding celebrated local cuisine while raising money for Redding West Rotary, uniting local efforts to support Rotary projects—an event that highlighted community collaboration.  Action News Now
  • The annual Redding Pro-Am golf tournament raised funds to cover 85 percent of the costs for Special Olympics in Shasta County + the event, which began in 1973, showed strong local support for community athletic programs.  Action News Now

CRIME NEWS

  • Shasta County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Vincent Michael Souza, 24, on June 7 for attempted murder after he stabbed a victim during a dispute at a Bridge Lane residence in Redding—his father was also taken into custody for resisting officers.  KRCR

CULTURE NEWS

  • Redding's Sundial Comic Con will return this summer on August 2nd at the Red Lion Hotel on Hilltop Drive from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and organizer Chris Munday announced that panelists such as William Salyers, Sam Marin, Holly Chou, and Jeremy Inman will join the event — local comic book artists will also have booths — promising an engaging day for fans.  KRCR
