- ➤ United Airlines began a new daily flight from Redding to Denver today. Local officials held a ribbon cutting at noon + the flight departs at 1:18 p.m. and takes about 2 hours 22 minutes. Action News Now
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Tuesday night, the Redding City Council and community members discussed a Riverfront Specific Plan that sets seven guiding principles for developing 380 acres of riverfront land—highlighting ideas for new event centers, habitat restoration, and waterside projects. City staff and consultants will next prepare a draft plan and environmental impact report while scheduling more meetings to gather further community feedback. KRCR

- ➤ After 15 years, founder Kathy Siegle — who started the event to help special needs students compete — retired and passed control of Shasta County Sports Day to the Shasta County Special Olympics at Central Valley High School on May 22nd. Dozens of families attended the event, and the new organizers will expand the competition to involve more students in the future. KRCR
