- ➤ Entries for this year’s Shasta District Fair must be submitted soon as most exhibits are due this Friday and horticulture and floriculture entries are due June 13—assistants at the fair office can help anyone with computer issues. KQMS
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A video taken at Kool April Nites on April 26th shows a 62-year-old man named Norman Valdez shoving an off-duty officer after yelling profanities at Explorer Scouts and community service officers in the Civic Auditorium area, and after more officers arrived he was arrested—investigators are asking for additional footage. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Officials from the City of Redding and United Airlines announced that a new daily flight from Redding Regional Airport to Denver International Airport will launch on Thursday, May 22. A celebration with remarks from Mayor Jack Munns and other local leaders is scheduled at noon before the flight departs at 1:18 p.m. KRCR

- ➤ At Tuesday night's meeting (May 20th), the Redding City Council listened to a presentation on emerging concepts for the Redding Riverfront Specific Plan and provided feedback (including suggestions for the plan’s direction). Action News Now
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Glenn Medical Center in Willows lost its Critical Access designation—needed for funding—and its emergency room may close by April 2026 if support is not secured. Lauren Still, the chief administrative officer, said CMS revoked the status because the hospital is too close to Colusa Medical Center and officials are seeking help from lawmakers. Action News Now
