- ➤ Amazon plans to sign an agreement with Redding to buy 34 acres in Stillwater Business Park near Redding Regional Airport for about $2.5M+ the company will build a 95,000-square-foot distribution center to serve the region while the city council reviews the deal on Tuesday. Record Searchlight
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Redding man was arrested after he struck three vehicles and several light poles in East Redding Sunday evening around 7:30 p.m.—community tips led police to his Silver Nissan Pathfinder after he attempted to flee, and he now faces charges of DUI and felony hit-and-run. Action News Now
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Shasta Renaissance and Fantasy Faire will take place this Memorial Day weekend at the Shasta County Fairgrounds, featuring live knight fights, fairy acrobatics and pony jousting, as well as increased servings of turkey legs and mead compared to last year—organizers say volunteers will begin work Wednesday and expect a record turnout on both days.
