- ➤ The 77th annual Redding Rodeo roared through the week as Friday and Saturday events sold out with cowboy riding, Native American Appreciation, cancer awareness, a pancake breakfast and a downtown parade — free bus shuttles helped ease traffic. Today at 7 p.m., Rodeo Church will debut with cowboy preacher Todd Pierce and a live horse-breaking demonstration. Record Searchlight

- ➤ ANC earned 12 journalism awards in 2024 from the California News Publishers Association — a notable increase from five awards last year. Five team members were honored, with Mike Chapman winning four awards for his work. A News Cafe
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ CAL FIRE reported the Creek Fire burning in the Manton area was contained at 14 acres Friday night—no structures were threatened while 150 personnel worked on containment and the cause remains under investigation. Action News Now
