- ➤ RABA will offer free shuttles to the Redding Rodeo from May 13 to May 16. Buses run every 20 minutes before the rodeo from 4 to 6 p.m. and after from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m., serving four stops including downtown (1530 Yuba Street) and Mt. Shasta Mall. Action News Now
- ➤ The Shasta County District Attorney’s Office is hosting its 10th annual food drive during Elder Abuse Awareness Month. Non-perishable donations will be accepted at the West Street office and Save Mart on Churn Creek Road on May 23 and 24 (supporting seniors via Dignity Health Connected Living). KQMS

- ➤ High school seniors Mahayla Guevarra of West Valley and Bryce Owens of Red Bluff were named Scholar Athlete winners by Record Searchlight, Redding Rotary and Seamans Family Foundation on May 7 at Riverview Golf + Country Club. They received $2,500 scholarships while ten finalists got $1,800 each. Record Searchlight
- ➤ Today, the Schreder Planetarium hosts a free science festival from 3 to 7 p.m. that celebrates the 101st anniversary of planetariums with interactive exhibits and hands-on activities for all ages. KRCR
- ➤ Los Molinos High School senior Parker Heitman was named Scholar Athlete of the Month after earning a 4.0 GPA and showing a passion for math, with his honor announced on May 7. Action News Now

- ➤ After the cancellation of a $25 million mental health project, Anderson City Council is drafting a resolution to censure Councilwoman Susie Baugh for misusing her title.
