ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A fire on May 4th at a home on Victoire Way displaced a family after flames started in the garage and spread to the attic — the Redding Fire Department reported no injuries and is investigating the cause.  KRCR

CRIME NEWS

  • A year ago, Hunter Jensen, a 31-year-old veteran with PTSD, disappeared in Redding after leaving his family's home on foot near Highway 273 on Market Street between 8 and 9 p.m. in May 2024; Roseville police are investigating the case and urge anyone with information to call (916-774-5000).  Action News Now

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • CAL FIRE Glenn-Tehama Unit is battling the Pioneer Fire near Pioneer Ct. and Dibble Creek off Hwy 36 northwest of Red Bluff. The fire began yesterday at 5:11 p.m. and burned 68 acres, with 114 firefighters and several engines working — officials say resources will remain deployed for several more hours.  Action News Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Motorists on I-5 near Cottonwood Bridge face nighttime lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. from May 4 to May 7 to allow repair work on the bridge + Caltrans District 2 and J.F. Shea Co. have set up detours and law enforcement is monitoring traffic.  Action News Now
