- ➤ A candlelight vigil will be held this Sunday, May 4 at Sundial Bridge to honor missing persons and missing and murdered Indigenous people. The event runs from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will feature guest speakers, music, dancers, and a moment of silence—an evening that unites the community. KRCR

- ➤ A small plane crashed in Tehama County Tuesday near Cottonwood, killing its pilot and leaving a passenger seriously injured + the FAA confirmed Wednesday that the single-engine Aeronca Champion 7-EC was registered to a local resident while FAA and NTSB investigators began their probe. - ➤ A small plane crashed near Phyllis Road south of Cottonwood in Tehama County Tuesday afternoon, killing one person and injuring another who was flown to (UCDMC) as the National Transportation Safety Board began an investigation. KQMS
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Simpson University in Redding will cut tuition fees by half this fall for transfers from community colleges such as Shasta, Butte, and College of the Siskiyous — lowering costs to about $4,000 a year for those with Cal and Pell grants and nearly $20,000 for others — while non-transfer students will face a 3% tuition rise.
