- ➤ Three Redding leaders have proposed a 1-cent sales tax that will raise the rate from 7.25% to 8.25% and generate about $30 million each year to fund roads, public safety, parks, and airport improvements. - ➤ The Shasta County Board of Supervisors approved the rezoning of Hawes Farms, which now allows a year-round expansion of its amusement park rides and attractions—subject to a 45-foot ride height limit, no overnight camping, and noise monitors ensuring decibels remain below 55 beyond its property.
