  • Beloved local volunteer Donna Jones Nelson died April 6 at age 90. A Celebration of Life will be held June 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Pilgrim Congregational Church, where donations for an HVAC upgrade are welcomed in lieu of flowers.  A News Cafe

  • California officials urged residents during Earthquake Preparedness Month to prepare for quakes by signing up for the state’s early alert system and using multilingual resources — a reminder sparked by the devastating 1906 San Francisco quake.   • At the Red Bluff Round-Up, cowboy Cole Reiner scored 87 points in bareback riding and cowgirl Peggy Garman posted a 2.8-second run in breakaway roping on Saturday, while Garman credited her 7-year-old gelding (Nacho) for his speed; finals are scheduled Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with proceeds supporting cancer care.  Action News Now
