- ➤ Shasta County announced that Health and Human Services Director Laura Burch, who has been on medical leave since last September, will retire effective August 1 after 20 years of service—Assistant Director Christy Coleman will serve as acting director until a permanent replacement is named. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Butte College football student Gabe Ponce signed with UT Permian Basin on Friday and Butte held its Black & Gold track meet. Spring training will begin Monday. Action News Now
- ➤ RC Landingham scored 87 points on his bareback ride on Legacy Rodeo’s Rosie’s Flight to take the lead Friday night at the Red Bluff Round-Up, and Lefty Holman matched his score in saddle bronc riding. The rodeo continues Saturday April 19 at 2:30 p.m. with additional events. Action News Now
- ➤ At the Red Bluff Round-Up on Saturday, Tulsa cowboy Jayco Roper won the bareback riding event with 90 points on his horse Right on Q while Hat Creek’s RC Landingham placed second. California cowgirl Courtney Crum from McArthur led the breakaway roping with a 2.7-second time riding her mare Sunday. Action News Now
