CRIME NEWS

  • Officers from the Shasta County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop near Interstate 5 and Cottonwood early Friday morning on April 18, finding 31.5 grams of suspected fentanyl in the vehicle and 10.6 grams on the passenger, and arrested 69-year-old Steven Patrick Robertson and 35-year-old Michael Joseph Ybarra for narcotics offenses.  KRCR
  • A Shasta County jury found Gregory Lee Wise guilty of second-degree robbery for his November 17th Umpqua Bank heist in Redding—he is set to be sentenced May 13th—after all special allegations were confirmed.  KRCR
  • A Redding couple, Amanda and Riley Royal, are accused of abusing their toddler to death in 2023 — they returned to court on April 18 when Amanda’s attorneys asked to be relieved and a new public defender was tentatively appointed — and a hearing on April 25 will confirm the appointment.  KRCR
  • Redding Police Department is searching for Bradley Goedecke—34 and at-risk due to trouble thinking and deafness—who was last seen leaving Bethel Church on April 18th at 7:50 p.m. and asks anyone with information to contact the department immediately.  KRCR
  • Late Thursday night on Wilshire Drive, a driver veered off the road, struck a power pole, and caused a power outage affecting 67 customers; the CHP arrested the driver for DUI and he sustained minor injuries—power is expected to be restored by 8:30 a.m.  Action News Now
  • 16-year-old Levi Kelsey, a student at Shasta High School, has been missing for six days after he was last seen in Westwood Village on Sunday—local police checked a residence last night and found no signs of him while his family remains deeply concerned and urges anyone with information to come forward.  KRCR
