One week ago, shortly after 6 p.m., a broken water main sent water gushing down a west Redding street, prompting neighbors to gather and share laughs, food (like fresh eggs) and updates while emergency crews and public works swiftly restored water flow and repaired the damage.

A downtown building at 1675 Market St, once home to DataRay (which moved in 2024), is set to become Founders Bar as demolition work began last July and new permits remain pending review since December; an opening date has not been announced.

Work has begun on redeveloping the former tech building at Placer street just west of Damburger + project details will be shared as construction progresses.
