- ➤ United Way of Northern California completed its South Market Micro Shelter pilot that helped 32 people access stable housing and supportive services before moving its Redding office to Hill Country Community Clinic. - ➤ California gas prices climbed on Apr. 4 to an average of $5.71 per gallon, up from $5.65 last week (EIA) as traders factored in potential oil supply issues and increased spring demand. Record Searchlight

- ➤ The Shasta-Trinity National Forest plans a prescribed fire on Tuesday, April 7 in the Mount Shasta Ranger District to reduce wildfire risk by burning 110 acres near Mount Shasta – the area may close for public safety and residents may notice smoke during the burn. Action News Now
- ➤ CAL FIRE (the state agency) released campfire safety tips on Apr. 4 to help residents prevent wildfires by advising them to never leave fires unattended and to keep water and a shovel nearby. Action News Now
