- ➤ The new Parkview Haven housing complex will break ground today at the corner of Parkview and Leland avenues. The $4.85 million project will offer seven studio and seven one-bedroom units for people experiencing homelessness and is set to finish by November. Record Searchlight

- ➤ Mellow Yellow Cafe, a business run by a Redding family near Westwood Village Shopping Center, is set to open this Thursday and will offer coffee, lemonade, fresh baked goods, and drive thru (a key feature of their setup). - ➤ Shasta Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center will hold an Open House Baby Shower for Orphaned Wildlife on April 4 at its center. The event will let locals meet animals like ambassador kestrel Stitch and support the center with needed donations as rising heat drives more injured wildlife to get help. KRCR
- ➤ The U.S. Forest Service is starting burns near McCloud today to remove excess vegetation and protect communities, and will work on two projects covering 77 and 419 acres; areas near Highway 89 and Snowman’s summit may close until Thursday, Mar. 26 (weather permitting).
