  • In 2025, Haven Humane Society in Shasta County recorded 2,134 adoptions along with 12,778 volunteer hours + 3,750 dog walks; the organization will build on that record in 2026 to strengthen local animal care amid ongoing capacity challenges.  Action News Now

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Crews from the forest service conducted two prescribed burns on Tuesday near Shasta Lake and Weaverville to manage forest health. The operations covered 190 acres and up to 300 acres to improve conditions in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest.  Action News Now
