- ➤ On Thursday, the Redding East Rotary disbursed $126,000 from the Sundial Riffle Raffle, where 26 schools + youth groups participated, to support substance abuse prevention and youth development programs in Shasta County, with Mistletoe Elementary leading the fundraiser. KQMS
- ➤ Katarina & Payton, survivors of the 2018 Camp Fire, received a new home from Habitat for Humanity of Butte County to help them rebuild their lives. The gift offers a fresh start in a supportive community setting. Action News Now

- ➤ Pleasant Valley High School is hosting its 12th annual 'We, Not Me' basketball event for special needs students, featuring a game and a skills competition. Action News Now

- ➤ The EPA has designated two former mines in Shasta County as Superfund sites because of toxic contamination — Afterthought Mine in Ingot is leaking carcinogens into local creeks and Iron Mountain Mine remains under treatment from decades of acid drainage. Further studies will guide cleanup plans to protect public health. Action News Now
- ➤ Whiskeytown National Recreation Area invites residents to review rebuild plans for the Environmental School, which was destroyed by the Carr Fire. Public feedback is open through Feb. 21 and a meeting will be held Feb. 7 at noon at Hatcher Hall. KRCR
- ➤ The Forest Service and Woodsy Owl launch a safe battery disposal campaign — Skip the Bin Turn Your Batteries In — to reduce fire risks and hazards. Residents can tape batteries and drop them off at Lowes, Home Depot or City of Redding Solid Waste on Abernathy Lane. KQMS
