- ➤ Raising Shasta is hosting its second annual Roaring Rumble — a celebrity boxing match at Win River Casino on April 4 — to raise funds for youth programs. Tickets go on sale January 21. KRCR
- ➤ The Asphalt Cowboys (with parade chairman Justin Maier) announced that the Redding Rodeo Parade Theme Contest opens today and will accept single-page entries until Feb. 1 to guide parade decorations during rodeo week; the winner will receive a $100 cash prize and join as a special guest. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Lake Boulevard north of Shasta Dam Boulevard will be closed to all traffic — except emergency and authorized personnel — from Jan. 20 through April 17 for Centimudi Water Tank construction. Motorists heading to Shasta Dam or the boat ramp should use Highway 151. Record Searchlight
