EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Shasta County Reading Pals is seeking volunteers to offer one-on-one reading support to students in 11 local schools. Orientation for interested volunteers will be held Monday, Jan. 12 from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Professional Development Center (2985 Innsbruck Drive). Record Searchlight
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A section of Lake Boulevard near Shasta Lake is closed until April 17 for all but emergency traffic due to a new water tank construction project. Motorists headed to Shasta Dam or the Centimudi Boat Ramp should use State Route 151 + drive carefully. KQMS
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Enloe Health has partnered with Lifepoint Rehabilitation to manage the inpatient rehab services at its center on East Avenue. The partnership will bring proven management practices from over 115 facilities nationwide + maintain current staffing levels. KRCR
