- ➤ The Redding Community Choir will hold a free Winter concert this Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at First Christian Church on Placer Street at Buenaventura, with light refreshments to follow and donations accepted to support the group. KQMS
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Recent heavy rain created potholes on Victor and Cypress avenues that have led to tire damage and safety issues for drivers. The city announced two active transportation projects with repairs set to begin in summer 2026 to address the hazards. KRCR
- ➤ On Tuesday, Shasta County Public Works announced a 5-ton load limit on Meyer Road at Dry Creek Bridge due to heavy storm flows + repair work is expected to finish by the end of January once conditions improve. Action News Now
- ➤ Former Congressman Doug LaMalfa, a fourth-generation rice farmer from Richvale, was celebrated for his work advocating for Northstate farmers; local leaders noted his commitment to giving rural communities a stronger voice, especially through his efforts during Proposition 50. KRCR

- ➤ Shasta County Health Officer Dr. James Mu said the flu season started early and that the 'Super Flu' label does not indicate greater severity than H3N2 strains. He expects rural cases to rise in the next two weeks and urges residents to get a flu shot (vaccine is 30-40% effective). KRCR
