About this event
Miles Davis, the extraordinary jazz trumpeter would have turned 100 this year. He took jazz from the beepop era into its modern form-- always upping the ante, never afraid to try something new. From the exciting to the avant-garde to what some might even consider strange, Miles Davis changed the trajectory of jazz by forging his own musical path.
Join us for Birth of the Cool: Celebrating 100 Years of Miles Davis, presented by The North State Jazz Orchestra's Nonet, on Saturday, November 7, at 4 pm, at Sequoia Middle School Auditorium.
Nine of the North State Jazz Orchestra's finest musicians will come together to honor Miles Davis with a night of song. It'll be legendary. It'll be enchanting. It'll be cool. Just as Miles would want it.
