- ➤ Redding and Anderson police say more e-scooter riders are causing close calls and injuries on Cypress Avenue, Hartnell Avenue and Highway 273 due to speeding and riding on sidewalks—officials urge riders to obey the 15 mph limit and carry a valid driver’s license. Record Searchlight

- ➤ Norman Valdez, 62, of McArthur was arrested on April 26 after allegedly assaulting an off-duty police officer at a community event near Park Marina Drive and Sundial Bridge Drive — he faces charges of assaulting an officer, public intoxication and resisting arrest. KRCR
- ➤ A routine traffic stop in Redding led officers to arrest Vacaville man Ramiro Pelayo at 2:00 a.m. on April 26 — he showed signs of intoxication and a loaded, unregistered sawed-off shotgun and an unloaded semi-automatic handgun were found in his vehicle — and he now faces DUI and weapons charges. - ➤ Redding’s Kool April Nites ended on April 27th at the Redding Civic Auditorium with a final cruise of winning cars circling the winner’s circle—hundreds of auto enthusiasts gathered to view vehicles in more than a dozen categories. KRCR
